Wolfenstein 3D

Created by John Carmack. It is a 3D version of Commander Keen, also with guns, but with health. This is set when you (with this kind of game, you are the main character) are imprisoned in Nazi Germany, on a mission. You earn your first gun, when you kill guard with your dagger. This is before the game starts.
